There are many things you can do to help our planet!
Below you will find actions which you can put into practice everyday.
They are listed from the easiest to more difficult, so you can apply them gradually.

1. Put paper, glass and plastic to special containers
These materials can be recycled and made into something new
2. Use re-usable water bottles
It will limit plastic pollution and is one of the easiest things you can do!
3. Drink tap water when safe
There are actually more regulations and controls on the water coming from your tap than on bottled water, so it saves a plastic bottle and is better for you too!
4. Save water and electricity
Close the tap when brushing your teeth and try to take faster showers. You can also turn off the lights when not being used and unplug electronics when not in use
5. Use the stairs instead of an elevator
It will save energy and you will become fitter! For sure you will be also faster than elevator – try racing it 🙂

6. In the city use public transport / bike / skateboard
There will be less cars, less CO2 pollution and you will get some exercise too! Sometimes you will also arrive sooner as you will not be stuck in traffic jams!
7. Don't use plastic straws
Instead, buy a multi-use straw and carry it with you.It will limit plastic pollution
8. Don't throw away old toys
You can exchange toys with your friends or donate them to charity or a thrift shop
9. Ask your parents to drive a bit slower on highway
When car goes slower, it emits less CO2. It also consumes less petrol, so your parents will save some money!
10. Ask your parents to use re-usable bag when shopping
It will limit plastic pollution. Plastic bags are used, on average, for only 12 minutes, yet they take hundreds of years to break down. Annually approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide
11. Eat less sweets, less meat and more vegetables
You will be healthier and your teeth will be better (less dentist visits!). This will also limit deforestation and CO2 emitions as livestock is one of the major causes of both deforestation and CO2 pollution
12. Repair things
Learn from your parents how to repair things, instead of throwing them away. Some repairs are easy and some might require specific skills
13. Clean your neighbourhood
Join a local organization or school to clean your neighbourhood or local forest from trash and plastic
14. Spend your holidays locally
Flying emits a lot of CO2 straight to atmosphere, so try to convince your parents to limit flying. You can also have great holidays closer to home 🙂
15. Plant a tree
This is an ultimate action! Plant a tree in your garden or in a nearby forest. Your tree will consume CO2 from the air and it will release oxygen. Also it will look beautifully 🙂 and give a shade from the sun
